“Only if words are felt, bodily presences, like echoes or waterfalls, can we understand the power of spoken language to influence, alter, and transform the perceptual world.”
— David Abram, The Spell of the Sensuous
The throat chakra is a central part of my daily practice around words, voice, and movement. It holds many layers: from making sound, discerning intonation, pace, and rhythm, to tuning into the inner world and aligning with my higher self through frequency elevation.
It requires honesty to examine the root of blockages, feel the forbidden words, and embrace the death of an old identity while allowing a new one to unfold. This is a process of individuation, a practice of listening to the energetic body, especially as the throat chakra is deeply connected to the workings of all other chakras.
I’m sharing a few key elements drawn from my own experience that can help guide your search for your voice. Let’s start with the foundational attitude:
1. Blockage Is Not a Barrier —It’s an Invitation
A blockage is not something to be “removed,” but a doorway to your inner strength.
Our words and voice reflect where we are in life. If you're not happy with your life, begin here.
This is not about extracting information with the mind. It's about creating space for curiosity, for compassion. Ask sincerely: “What is my learning here?” Then wait.
This is alchemy, not just occasional affirmations. It is a daily practice of listening. Observe yourself:
Which words did you use? How did you use them?
What was your intonation? How did it sound?
How do your throat and other parts of body feel while making this sound?
Is the sound open and flowing naturally, or is it tight? Why? In what kind of situation? With whom?
What changes do you feel when you speak from the heart and belly?
In addition to gentle observation, I often use lyrics as a mirror, both for where I am and where I want to be. Music carries specific frequencies. When something resonates, I feel it in my body, lightness, excitement, expansion, sometimes fire. Let your body be your guide.

Tune in. Sit with it. Welcome it.
Let the messenger speak, in their own timing.
Which words light you up?
Which ones want to be embodied?
The energy of honesty Opens Your Inner World.
2. Make Sounds—Be an Owl, Be a Wolf, Be a Child, Be Wild.
Sound is the foundation of the throat chakra. It carries frequency and interacts with other frequencies around us. This requires us to attune to our living environment.
Be spontaneous. Immerse yourself in sounds. Remember: we don’t own language, and language is not limited to words. This may seem simple, but it asks us to reframe our relationship with nature. Instead of numbing it out, we listen and participate in the subtle choir of energies.
Leave behind the analytical mind. Surrender control. Let your throat chakra know that the ego is stepping aside. Let sound be a form of offering: to the Earth, to spirit, to yourself.

3. Inner Dialogue First, Then Outer Communication
The throat chakra is a portal between the inner world and the outer. Before you speak outwardly, you observe inwardly. What are the thoughts, emotions, and sensations you carry? Sit in silence. Listen. Feel the vibration rise from within and your needs before you express it.
Speaking from the throat is about taking space, softly and firmly.
4. When in Low-Vibration Environments: Elevate or Leave
Pay attention to how your throat chakra reacts in certain spaces, not just to spoken words, but to non-verbal energy. If you're highly sensitive, your energy may easily drain in environments that don’t nurture you. If you’re aware of this but stay anyway, ask yourself:
What do you get here that you can’t get elsewhere? What are you afraid of? Is it true?
Sometimes the cost of conformity or belonging is too high. My experience: belong to yourself first. Create a space where like-minded souls can gather and thrive.

5. Desire and Inner Flame: Fuel for the Throat Chakra
Desire is a sacred force. Your passions, your flames are powerful signals for activating your voice. This is especially crucial for souls who’ve been taught to put others first. It's not selfish to prioritize your needs, it’s essential. Ask yourself:
Where have you given too much? Where have you silenced yourself?
What does the love energy in your heart say?
6. We are never Alone: Trusting the Earth for Your Vulnerability
To ground is to trust that the Earth supports you. She receives and she gives. We are never alone.
Visualize your feet as roots. Feel the exchange.
Send your unheard longings to the Earth; allow yourself to receive.
Make grounding a daily practice, especially before speaking or expressing something vulnerable.
7. Numerology: the Power of 11
In numerology, the number 11 is associated with sound current. If 11 appears in your life path, pay close attention to how your vibration moves through the world. Sound is expansive, just like the number itself. According to Remington Donovan, a life path of 11 grants access to divine inspiration, but it requires action. When you move with intention, the universe responds with support. Let the inertia of the cosmos work in your favor.
